This week, we look at Mark 1:21-34 and Jesus' first recorded signs of authority. He teaches with authority. Casts out demons with authority. And heals the body with authority. Jesus shows himself to be the master of truth, the spiritual realm, and the physical realm. While we all generally come to Jesus in the hope that he will help us with some specific area of need in our lives, in our text today we are being invited to see Jesus as the true king of the universe who has nevertheless come to love and serve and to lay down his life as the servant king.
