This week we consider the prayer “Give us this day our daily bread.” We all know that each day we need certain things to stay healthy, food is among them. But when we pray for “our daily bread” we are praying for limited provision, we are praying for only that which God wants to give us to draw us deeper into relationship with Him. By believing that what he wants to give us is ultimately of infinite value in comparison with what we would try to take for ourselves we are being invited to know him as a Good Father and our ultimate provider.
