There are several commandments in the OT that tell followers of Yahweh not to take the Lord’s name in vain. This does not mean primarily that one ought not use foul language, but that one ought not employ God’s name nor any other name as a proof of your sincerity, instead one ought simply to be sincere. Why is this? This week we look at the root of the importance of constancy in the life of the believer and why it is rooted in the constancy of the life of God.
