Something's Missing: A Study in James
Join us for a series in the Epistle of James entitled "Something’s Missing." James can get a bad rap for being heavy on the law and light on grace, but I think that is a fundamental misunderstanding of what James is saying. James looks at the early church and notices that something isn’t right. If the first-century church were a chocolate cake, it didn’t taste right and James is the guy who puts down his fork and says something about it. James’ diagnosis of the church is as poignant today as it was two thousand years ago. And the missing ingredient is not found in what we do. Our lack of wisdom, generosity, self-control, humility, and patience are only symptoms of the real missing ingredient, and it is not something that we can come up with or produce on our own. Join us as we look for the true missing ingredient in the church today.
